IGNOU B.Ed Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria to appear in IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2026:

Minimum 50% marks in either Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Science/Social Science/Commerce/Humanities. Bachelor in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto.

AND

The following categories are eligible to be students of B.Ed. (ODL):

(1) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.

(2) Candidates who have completed NCTE Recognized Teacher Education Programme through Face to Face Mode.

Reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility shall be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/PWD candidates as per Central Government rules.

1) The first step towards application is registration of the candidates. In the registration form, candidates need to provide details like name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, username, password, etc.

2) Once the registration form is successfully submitted, candidates will be able to fill their application form using their username and password.

3) Now, to fill the application form, candidates need to provide information such as nationality, category, religion, address, name of qualifying exam, year of passing, etc.

4) The application form will also ask for additional details related to NCTE recognized teacher education program and teaching experience.

5) Scanned copies of documents such as photograph, signature, mark sheet, experience certificate, etc. should also be uploaded in the application form.

6) After providing all the details in the application form, candidates can submit it online along with the prescribed application fee.

7) After submission, one should take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future reference.
